Don’t Let the Dust Settle

Hialeah Woman Dusting a ShelfMaking sure your Hialeah home is dust-free can be tricky. What makes it more difficult is when dusters move the dust around rather than trapping and removing it. This can only lead to time and money wasted. Get yourself the right tools so that you can dust effectively. Make it a point to go through a variety of dusters so that you can pick and choose one that will suit your needs.

Feather Dusters

Even though they’re thought to be luxurious, feather dusters are a smart choice for everyone. Feather dusters are great at what they do because they are all-purpose and durable. Nonetheless, don’t go with just anything — opt for the right kind. The only ostrich down feathers attracts dust. Ostrich down feathers are thick and soft and sufficiently capture dust. Although they can be on the expensive side, feather dusters made of other types of feathers or synthetic materials won’t work. On the other end, cheap feather dusters will only flick dust and not actually collect them. Pretty soon dust will fall right back onto your furniture and all around the room.

Wool Dusters

Wool is another excellent option if you’re in the market for dusters made out of natural material. Wool dusters attract and collect dust with static and natural lanolin in the fibers. Known for its softness, wool is the prime choice for dusting delicate surfaces that scratch easily. If you find that wool dusters are not readily available in your local stores, they are surely in stock in online shops.

Microfiber Dusters

Another affordable duster you might want to consider are microfiber dusters. Though they come in many sizes and styles, these dusters are up to the task of removing dust. Microfiber works so well because it is made of tiny filaments that rub together, creating static electricity. This static attracts dust, making dust removal brief and simple. Microfiber is also washable and reusable, making it one of the most economically-friendly dusters around.

Microfiber dusters come in a wide variety. A number of them are hand-dusters, with an easy-grip handle that lets you operate the duster out of corners and across high shelves. A few also come with extendable handles to aid you to reach the tops of door frames and photo frames. There is, however, a certain kind of duster that is very specific for window blinds. Designed with three prongs, this microfiber duster slips between the slats and grabs dust on both sides with every swipe. Another great selection is the dusting mitt. Think of an oven mitt, but tailored out of microfiber. It’s excellent for wiping down surfaces!

Disposable Dusters

One well-known choice for many is the disposable dusting pad. These dusters are made from tiny polyester fibers and rely on static electricity to attract and remove dust. Name brand or not, these types of dusters all achieve the same goal. They also come in either dusting kits with a reusable handle or packs of refill pads. Numerous users prefer to use these dusters because they can easily throw the pad away once it’s visibly dirty.

Compressed Air

Finally, if you need to dust delicate electronic devices or small crevices, one of the best dusters you can use is compressed air. The compressed air comes in cans that you can spray to blow dust out of whatever surface or corner you want. Afterward, feel free to use any of the other dusters to follow through with more dusting!
